Emma ArmijoATTENDS GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY, SEEKING BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREES IN MULTIMEDIA JOURALISM AND DANCE.
I have been working as a journalist in West Michigan for the last four years, while receiving my education at Grand Valley State University.
I am currently the News Editor for The Lanthorn, a position I have held for one year at the student-run newspaper. Previously, I worked for the same publication as the Arts & Entertainment Editor, and before that I spent two years as a Staff Writer in the News section. |
Emma has completed 17 years of dance training.
My dance training has spanned classical ballet schools, nonprofit, dance for change organizations, nationally competitive dance teams and creating and performing works of my own creation. Professionally, I have worked with local dance professionals and worldwide creative talents, as well as choreographed several pieces receiving first place, overall high score awards at regional dance competitions across the Midwest.
My unique performing arts background gives me an in-depth understanding of the arts, communication, body language, personal connectivity and stage presence that translate into my journalistic work in interviews, writing and on-camera reporting.
